Who We Are
Siberian Cat Health Association is made up of contributing breeders who are dedicated to helping maintaining the Siberian Cat as a healthy, vigorous breed. SCHA accepts results from breeders, pet owners, and fanciers who have had their Siberian tested and are willing to share their cat’s results publicly. We believe there is value is sharing information and knowledge in order to make educated breeding decisions. We can’t do that while breeding in a vacuum – we need as much information as possible whether it’s good or bad news.
SCHA also has member catteries who help contribute to maintain the website. Member catteries test most or all of their breeding cats by DNA for testable diseases* such as PKD1 and PK Def and testing by ultrasound for HCM. Member catteries also commit to releasing their kittens to new homes no earlier than 12 weeks old.
Siberian Cat Health Association is an Arizona Not for Profit Corporation
SCHA has not yet filed for 501c3 status, but that is planned for 2021.
